The snowy weather the Northeast has been getting was perfect for snowboarding today. I woke up at 6 AM to go to Labrador Mountain, and I boarded all day. It was awesome. I am in so much pain right now, though...

It was my first snowboarding expedition of the season, so of course my muscles are extremely sore. I also managed to sprain my ankle somehow, but I don't know what exactly I did. The area is quite swollen and painful to move. It's not a bad enough injury to require medical attention, but I am staying off it for now.

Happy New Year.

Today I have to go back to school. We got hit with a big ice storm last night, though, so the school is on a one-hour delay. Heh, that's what they get for trying to send us back to school the day after New Year's.

New Year's Eve Mass was great. I went to Adoration and Confession beforehand, and then Jess and I sang at Mass. The Mass was just ending when the clock struck midnight. Afterwards, we toasted to the New Year with sparkling grape juice in the church parking lot.

I'm sooooo exhausted this morning. I was going to go to bed early last night, since Jess and I stayed up till three in the morning on New Year's Day. Then I got watching this cheesy TV movie, "The Wedding Dress". It was kind of cute and made me want to get married (if only to wear a beautiful white gown). That got over with at 11, and then I prayed the Rosary. Of course, I didn't know about the one-hour delay this morning until I had already woken up and showered, so it was pointless for me to go back to bed.

I'm going to go to bed as soon as I get home from school!

(Yeah right.)

I'm planning to ring in the New Year tonight at Mass. I'm going to Adoration from 10 to 11 and then Mass from 11 to midnight. There isn't a better way to celebrate...

Hey, if you love the Pope, check out this PBS Frontline on John Paul II. I thought it was extraordinary. It nearly moved me to tears...

Today is the second-to-last day of 2002... makes me kind of nostalgic. I look back on this year and think of all the stuff that's happened. What will I remember about 2002 twenty years from now? Will I remember anything? The events that shaped my year probably aren't that monumental in the long run.

I also find myself looking forward to the new year. 2003 is possibly the biggest year of my life yet... the prom, applying to colleges, the start of my senior year, my first summer vacation with a drivers license.

So how am I planning to bring in the new year? Jessica and I are planning to go to Mass New Year's Eve from 11 to midnight. It's going to be beautiful and simple and a good start to 2003.
